Mike w Asimos is a West Point graduate, an experienced Wall Street con man and the author of The Real Life Con Game. Asimos was born in Charleston, South Carolina. After finishing his education at West Point Military Academy, he got a mechanical engineering degree in 1978. After graduating from West Point, he became an officer in the US Army. However, during the Gulf War, he suffered severe injuries to his back and was forced to retire from military service. Asimos went on to become a successful Wall Street businessman, but he quickly realized that he was spending more time fantasizing than really making money.
It took him just two years to make $8 million dollars – almost half of which came from other financial institutions that were duped into funding the scams he had perpetrated against them. After these scams were successful, Asimos started assisting others in launching their own con professions. Michael Asimos had an excellent life as a young guy. But, what should have been his shining moment turned into a disaster when the recession of 2008 hit Wall Street. Michael Mike Asimos, a successful Wall Street broker, became an FBI informant, assisting investigators in uncovering a massive securities fraud scheme. But, after years of living under an assumed identity, he was sentenced to five years in prison for his role in the scheme.
He was freed from prison after finishing his sentence, and he immediately started con artists. But this time, the FBI had him under surveillance. He was arrested and convicted of mail fraud for a second time. He has not been involved in any more scams since then. The difficulty is that none of his friends appear to want to see him return. It seems that they think he has lost all credibility with them. I’m not sure what con men mike asimos will do next or whether there will ever be a redemption story in this, but there’s no denying that this is a terrible situation. There are rumors that he’ll do another con game someday and hope for better luck. But as it stands right now, Michael Asimos is really just an out-of-luck con man.
